Head Office Circular No. NP/025/14/MC

To the Secretary all Branches,
Council of Executive members,
Regional Councils and Regional Offices.

Thursday 06th February 2014

Dear Colleagues,

Palestine Solidarity Campaign – Trade Union conference

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign is organising a conference for delegates from trade unions, sponsored by the TUC, on Saturday 5 April (from 10.00 – 15.30) . It will hear about the latest developments from speakers, including trade unionists, from Palestine and from the trade union and solidarity movement in Britain. It will take place at the TUC, Congress House, Great Russell St, London WC1B 3LS.
Just as for apartheid in South Africa, international solidarity can make a key contribution in the struggle for liberation. And over the last few years, we have seen a massive surge in trade union solidarity. The Palestine Solidarity Campaign is organising this conference to discuss the next steps in the struggle for peace and justice for Palestine. Specialist strands will focus on discussion and proposals for particular areas of work – from targeting complicit firms and ending the arms trade, to building the campaign within unions at local and national level. The conference is open to delegates from TUC-affiliated unions and their regions. It is also open to delegates from trade union branches that are affiliated to PSC.

RMT is affiliated to the PSC and encourage branches to do likewise. Branches are also encouraged to send delegates to this conference. It is not a public conference, so delegates must be registered in advance.
