Dear Colleague,
RACISM AT WORK – TUC REPORT
Carried out under the auspices of the TUC Anti-Racism Taskforce, the TUC have published the results of the UK’s biggest ever survey of black and minority ethnic workers.
The findings are shocking, including 120,000 workers have left their jobs because of racism and 2 in 5 BME workers have experienced racism at work in the last five years.
The research is linked here: Still Rigged: racism in the labour market.
Whilst I would encourage all our officers and reps to read the survey and take on board its recommendations in line with our union’s objectives, this report deserves widespread dissemination as challenging racism is everyone’s responsibility.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
