REGIONAL COUNCILS

Dear Colleague,

REINTRODUCTION OF ONBOARD REVENUE NORTHERN TRAINS LTD (NTL)

Further to Circular Head Office Circular NP/276/20, dated 3rd November 2020, following receipt of a report from the Regional Organiser, your National Executive Committee agreed the following resolution at its meeting today:

That we note the report on file from the Regional Organiser for which he is thanked, and note that both the RO and the Lead Health & Safety Representative for the Conductor Discipline are content with the answers received from the company in response to RMT’s concerns.

However, RMT does not agree to the reintroduction of Onboard Revenue services until the end of the current lockdown.

The General Secretary is instructed to write in such firm terms to Northern Trains Ltd, and furthermore to write to all companies where these duties have been reintroduced demanding immediate cessation until the end of the current lockdown period due to the effect the new variant of the virus is impacting on our members health. Should TOCs refuse to withdraw revenue duties then a trades dispute will exist.

Members, Branches and Regional Councils to be advised via text and email.

I am acting in accordance with these instructions.

Please bring the contents of this circular to the attention of relevant members.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
