Dear Colleague,
RMT NATIONAL DISABLED MEMBERS’ CONFERENCE – 29-30 APRIL 2025
I am pleased to inform you that next year’s National Disabled Members’ Conference will take place in Cardiff on Tuesday 29th April (starting at noon) to Wednesday 30th April 2025 (concluding by 4pm). The venue is the Clayton Hotel, St Mary St, Cardiff CF10 1GD.
Branches and Regional Councils are entitled to nominate a maximum of four delegates who are disabled. Please note that “disability” covers a whole range of physical and mental issues which are not necessarily visible eg. dyslexia. Nominations should be sent in on the attached form to our Equal Opportunities Officer j.webb@rmt.org.uk by 28 February 2025.
Branches and Regional Councils are also invited to submit motions for the agenda of the Conference which must be relevant to the concerns of our disabled members and conform to Union policy. All motions must be emailed in by 28 February 2025. In addition, invitations would be welcome from Branches and Regional Councils to host the 2026 Conference.
Branches and Regional Councils need to confirm with delegates that they are up to date with their subscriptions and what arrangements can be made towards their expenses before nominating. A £50 per delegate payment is made to Branches, up to a maximum of seven, i.e. £350 per Branch per year, payable in respect of delegates to Grades Conferences or the RMT Women’s, Young Members’, Health and Safety, Black and Ethnic Minorities, LGBT+, or Disabled Members’ Conferences.
