Dear Colleague,

 

RMT NATIONAL DISABLED MEMBERS’ CONFERENCE – 14-15 APRIL 2026

 

I am pleased to inform you that the next National Disabled Members’ Conference will take place in Exeter on Tuesday 14^th April (starting at 12.30pm with an optional introductory session) to Wednesday 15^th April 2026 (concluding by 4pm).  The venue is the Rougemont Hotel, Queen Street, Exeter EX4 3SP.

 

Branches and Regional Councils are entitled to nominate up to a maximum of four delegates who are disabled.  Please note that “disability” covers a whole range of physical and mental issues which are not necessarily visible eg. dyslexia.   Nominations can be accepted via email from the branch or region email address and should be received by 27^th February 2026.  

 

Branches and Regional Councils are also invited to submit motions for the agenda of the Conference which must be relevant to the concerns of our disabled members and conform to Union policy. All motions must be emailed in by 27^th February 2026.  In addition, invitations would be welcome from Branches and Regional Councils to host the 2027 Conference. 

 

Branches and Regional Councils need to confirm with delegates that they are up to date with their subscriptions and what arrangements can be made towards their expenses before nominating.  A £50 per delegate payment is made to Branches, up to a maximum of seven, i.e. £350 per Branch per year, payable in respect of delegates to Grades Conferences or the RMT Women’s, Young Members’, Health and Safety, Black and Ethnic Minorities, LGBT+, or Disabled Members’ Conferences.
