Dear Colleague,
RMT NATIONAL LGBT+ MEMBERS CONFERENCE – 26-27 MAY 2022
I am pleased to inform you that, Covid restrictions permitting, the 2022 National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender + Members’ Conference will take place at the Birmingham Conference and Events Centre, Hill Street, Birmingham B5 4W, on Thursday 26th May (starting at 2pm) to Friday 27th May 2022 (concluding by 4pm).
Branches and Regional Councils are entitled to nominate up to a maximum of four delegates each. Nominations must be made on the attached form, which should be emailed to Head Office by 28 February 2022.
Branches and Regional Councils are also invited to submit motions for the agenda of the Conference which should be relevant to the concerns to our LGBT+ members and must conform to Union policy. All motions must be received at Unity House by 28 February 2022. In addition to the above, invitations would be welcome from Branches and Regional Councils to host the 2023 Conference.
Branches and Regional Councils need to confirm with delegates that they are up to date with their subscriptions and what arrangements can be made towards their expenses before nominating. A £35 per delegate payment is made to Branches, up to a maximum of seven, i.e. £245 per Branch per year, payable in respect of delegates to a Grades Conference or the RMT National Women’s, Young Members’, Health and Safety, Black and Ethnic Minority Members’, LGBT+ Members’ or Disabled Members’ Conference.
