Dear Colleague,

 

RMT NATIONAL DISABLED MEMBERS’ CONFERENCE – 10-11 APRIL 2024

 

I am pleased to inform you that the 2024 National Disabled Members’ Conference will take place in Liverpool on Wednesday 10 April to Thursday 11 April 2024 (concluding by 4pm).  The venue is the Hilton Liverpool City Centre, 3 Thomas Steers Way, Liverpool L1 8LW.

 

Branches and Regional Councils are entitled to nominate a maximum of four delegates who are disabled.  Please note that “disability” covers a whole range of physical and mental issues which are not necessarily visible eg. dyslexia.   Nominations should be on the attached form, which should be emailed to our Equal Opportunities Officer j.webb@rmt.org.uk by29 February 2024. 

 

Branches and Regional Councils are also invited to submit motions for the agenda of the Conference which should be relevant to the concerns of our disabled members and must conform to Union policy. All motions must be emailed in by 29 February 2024. In addition, invitations would be welcome from Branches and Regional Councils to host the 2025 Conference.

 

Branches and Regional Councils need to confirm with delegates that they are up to date with their subscriptions and what arrangements can be made towards their expenses before nominating.  A £50 per delegate payment is made to Branches, up to a maximum of seven, i.e. £350 per Branch per year, payable in respect of delegates to Grades Conferences or the RMT Women’s, Young Members’, Health and Safety, Black and Ethnic Minorities, LGBT+, or Disabled Members’ Conferences.
