Dear Colleague,
Save ScotRail Ticket Offices – Campaign Update
RMT is campaigning against plans by ScotRail to reduce ticket office opening hours at 101 of its 143 staffed stations. These proposals would see weekly ticket office hours reduce by around 2800 a week.
We believe these proposals will worsen passenger service, safety and security and could lead to de-staffing by stealth in the future and must be opposed.
Resources including our briefing and the full list of affected stations is on the campaign page on the website.
Upcoming events
- As part of this campaign, a drop-in event for MSPs is taking place on Wednesday 11thDecember from 12.30 to 1.30. This is followed by a rally outside the Parliament at 1.45pm which members and activists are encouraged to attend.
- A day of action at ScotRail stations is taking place on Monday 16th December. Branches in Scotland are encouraged to hold an action at an affected station in their area. Campaign leaflets are available from the regional office, details below.
Actions for branches and activists:
- Please advise the RMT Scotland Office if you would like to be sent campaign leaflets (l.dobbin@rmt.org.uk) and also advise if you are intending to take part in the day of action on 16th December, and at which station and what time.
