Dear Colleagues

Staff our Stations Regional Campaign Meetings

Dear colleague,

In January RMT station staff reps and activists from across the country, and from Train Operating Companies, London Transport and Network Rail managed stations came together at a national staff our stations campaign meeting.

To build this campaign and develop regional strategies for recruiting and organising within station grades, the NEC has decided to hold a Staff our Stations campaign meeting in every region, open to all RMT station staff members and reps in each region.

Further details for each meeting, including speakers, will be circulated soon, however, the following dates have been selected so far:

London Transport Region – Wednesday 6th May 2020 – London – 4.30pm
London and Anglia – Wednesday 27th May 2020 – London
South Wales and South West – Monday 8th June – Bristol
Scotland – Monday 15th June – Glasgow – 6.30pm
South West – Wednesday 17th June – Plymouth – 7.00pm
Wessex – Friday 19th June – Southampton
Midlands – Monday 29th June – Birmingham – 5.00pm
North East – Wednesday 1st July – Newcastle
Manchester and North West – Monday 6th July – Manchester – 5.00pm
North West and North Wales – Wednesday 8th July – Liverpool – 5.00pm

The remaining regional meeting dates plus times and venues for each meeting will be shared as soon as they are available, with registration information. However, in the first instance, please hold the date for your region’s meeting and start publicising to station staff reps and members in your area.

A key outcome for each meeting will be the creation of a regional station staff sub-committee, so a high turnout from members and reps is key to the meetings being a success.

Members and reps wishing to attend the event should attempt to secure release in order to attend the meeting. Where this is refused, they should approach their branch regarding reimbursement for loss of earnings. Expenses for attending this event is a legitimate use of branch funds’

Please forward any enquires about this event to Sophie Ward (s.ward@rmt.org.uk).

Yours sincerely
