Dear Colleague,

 

STENA LINE EQUALITY REPS

 

Following the acceptance of the negotiated pay deal by our Stena Line Seafarers, the union now has the agreement for the establishment of the new post of equality representatives to be present on all vessels and all watches.  We are therefore seeking applications from members who are interested in holding this position.

 

Equality reps work alongside other union officers to:

• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion and raise the issues our members face on a daily basis.  
• Be a point of contact to support members on equality-related matters.
• Challenge instances of harassment and discrimination. 
• Strive to create a workplace culture where all members feel respected, valued, and safe to speak up about concerns.

 

Anyone who supports working in a safety-first environment based on equality and mutual respect is invited to put their name forward.  Suitable training and updates will be provided on a regular basis.  Please do send your contact details to your convenor Michael Hobson if you wish to ascertain more information or apply to be an equality rep via email stenaconvenor@rmt.org.uk.
