Dear colleagues

Support the People’s Assembly National Demonstration; ‘Britain is Broken’– 5th November, London: Assemble at Embankment, 12pm

The People’s Assembly is holding a National Demonstration on Saturday 5th November as part of its work to show solidarity with striking workers and to mobilise people to fight the new wave of austerity being unleashed on working people in Britain.

I will be addressing the demonstration and RMT has been asked to lead the march. The march assembles at 12pm on the Embankment (https://goo.gl/maps/Jm7EfnXLccZLobCN6 )

Because it is one of our strike days, the People’s Assembly has asked people not to use rail transport on the day.

Equally, we need to ensure that our picketing is as effective and strong as possible so if you are taking action that day, please ensure that pickets are as strong and visible as ever.

However, these demonstrations are an important part of mobilising resistance to the Tory government which is targeting our industry and attacking the right to strike, and galvanising support for wider strikes.

So, if you can attend the demonstration, please do so and bring your branch banners to make RMT’s presence on this important march as strong as possible.

Details of the march and transport to London on the day are on the People’s Assembly website here: https://thepeoplesassembly.org.uk/demo-transport/

Yours sincerely
