Dear Colleagues

 

Three weeks to go - Act today to Save our Ticket Offices 

 

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has been campaigning tirelessly to save ticket offices. The response so far has been completely unprecedented with well over 315,000 responses going in to the public consultation, dozens of campaigning events and rallies and the campaign continuing to gain national headlines. 

 

We now have exactly three weeks to go before the extended deadline to the consultation closes at midnight on Friday 1^stSeptember and together we need to keep up the momentum and continue to mobilise to defeat these plans which are part of the Tory government’s agenda of dehumanising the railway on behalf of the private operators and their shareholders. 

 

So with three weeks to go here’s three things we need you all to do today

 

1. Maximise the response to the public consultation 
2. Order a bundle of campaign freepost postcards from saveourticketoffices@rmt.org.uk (Please specify how many you would like 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 or more)
3. Distribute the postcards to passengers, homes, workplaces, events and friends and family

• Weds 16^th August – Save Ticket Offices Campaigning Day of Action https://bit.ly/saveticketofficesevents

 

• UPDATE: Thurs 31^st August 5pm – National Save Ticket Offices Campaign March and Rally – We are now gathering and marching from The Department for Transport on Horseferry Road to 10 Downing Street for a Campaign Rally at 6pm – More details to follow

 

• Friday 1st September – Public Consultation Closes
