Head Office Circular No. NP/053/23

Ref: EO/8

To all Branches and Regional Councils

16th March 2023

Dear Colleagues,

TUC Black Network

The TUC has launched a Black Network, the first-ever national database to capture and connect the work of Black activists, reps, organisers and trade union employees and officials, to work towards a more just and equitable world.

The TUC definition of Black – with a capital B – is used in a broad political and inclusive sense to describe people in the UK who have suffered from colonialism and enslavement in the past and continue to experience racism and diminished opportunities in today’s society.

This is an important opportunity for everyone who cares about the trade union movement and its future to get involved and support this historic effort.  Please do promote the TUC Black Network by sharing with your networks and encouraging others to join. The link is here to join the TUC Black Network.

Yours sincerely
