COUNCIL OF EXECUTIVES & HO OFFICERS.

Dear Colleagues

TUC Congress Fringe event: Building the fight against austerity

Meeting at BT Convention Centre, Liverpool (1245 on Monday 8 Sept)

Members who are due to be in, or can make it to Liverpool on 8 September are invited to attend a lunchtime meeting organised by the Trade Union Coordinating Group to discuss the continuing campaign against Austerity.

What can workers do to resist declining standards of living, withdrawal of workplace rights and cuts to public services? Join the discussion and help build consensus for aligning action between union and other organisations. Not least because the General Election is less than a year away, it is vital to keep the pressure up.

Matt Wrack of FBU will chair and Peter Pinkney, President of RMT will be speaking along with Christine Blower of NUT, Ian Lawrence of NAPO, John McDonnell MP and Mark Serwotka of PCS. The event is part of the TUC Congress Fringe schedule.

The meeting starts at 12:45pm and the venue is Hall 12, BT Convention Centre, Kings Dock, Waterfront, Liverpool L3 4FP https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?rlz=1T4DMUK_enGB327GB331&um=1&ie=UTF-8&fb=1&gl=uk&sll=53.3970117,-2.9900477&sspn=0.0196525,0.0439461&q=Liverpool+L3+4FP,+UK&sa=X&ei=vv_9U67kJcbpaN2hgogL&ved=0CBQQ8gEoADAA

AS THE FRINGE IS IN THE CONFERENCE CENTRE, A CREDENTIAL WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY. THEREFORE MEMBERS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING, SHOULD CONTACT HEAD OFFICE – SPECIFICALLY JAMES CROY OR GABRIEL BARTON IN THE NATIONAL POLICY DEPARTMENT.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
