Dear Colleagues,

TUC HeartUnions day of action & CTUF Spring Rally – 11 Feb

The TUC high-visibility day of action against the Trade Union Bill is on Thursday 11th February 2016. The day will focus on the value of trade unions in a modern economy, and why the trade union bill is counterproductive. It will be branded HeartUnions.

Materials will be made available from Regional Offices and branches are encouraged to organise leafletting events at stations. Please put this date in your diary and contact your Regional Office with details of the station you will leaflet and to request materials. The list below is not exhaustive so please do contact your regional offices for more details.

RMT leafletting activities will take place from 08.00 until 10.00 at the following stations:

•    London King’s Cross
•    Cardiff Central
•    Paddington
•    Liverpool Lime Street
•    Aberdeen
•    Glasgow Central
•    Edinburgh Waverley
•    Birmingham New Street

Leafletting activities will take place from 16.00 until 18.00 at the following stations:

The official website which provides briefings and resource packs can be visited here: http://heartunions.org/

Additionally, I will be addressing the Campaign for Trade Union Freedom Spring Rally on the same day. This will take place at Mander Hall, NUT, Hamilton House, Mabledon Place, London WC1H 9BD at 18.30. Members are strongly encouraged to attend. See attached for details.
Furthermore, on Wednesday 10 February the TUC will hand in a petition to number 10 Downing St calling on the government to rethink its dangerous and divisive trade union bill.

Let’s try to get as many signatures as we can before we hand it in and help build the campaign to defeat this bill.

Please sign and share the petition: https://campaign.goingtowork.org.uk/petitions/david-cameron-don-t-threaten-the-right-to-strike

Yours sincerely,
