TUC survey on racism at work

19th December 2016
My ref: EO/8
Circular No. NP/296/16

TO: THE SECRETARY
ALL BRANCHES AND REGIONAL COUNCILS

Dear Colleague,

TUC SURVEY ON RACISM AT WORK

The trade union movement is committed to eradicating racism in the workplace.  However many workers experience racism as part of their everyday life.  It may take the form of racial harassment from a manager, colleague, customer or client or could be being denied access to promotion or training.

The TUC has launched an on-line survey to expose the reality and scale of racism faced by many black and ethnic minority workers.  This is the first time that a survey of this kind has been carried out across the trade union movement.  The TUC wishes to hear from all workers who have suffered racism, and those who have witnessed any form of racial harassment or discrimination.

Please do support this survey and encourage fellow members to fill it in.  The information provided will be treated in confidence and can be completed anonymously. The closing date is 27 February 2017.
