DO NOT MISS THESE SPECIAL EVENTS

Join RMT members, as well as friends and family, at these great social and commemorative events this year. With Banners Held High, Merthyr Rising, the RMT and Cuba Solidarity Campaign Garden Party, the Durham Miners' Gala, the Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival and the Burston Strike School Rally are all chances to celebrate RMT and other unions' history and recommit to preserving and extending our legacy:

With Banners Held High - this event is taking place on Saturday 18th May 2019, in Wakefield, Yorkshire. Assemble at 11am at Smyth Street for a march, followed by a day of talks, debate, film and music celebrating the British Trade Union and Labour movement. https://www.tuc.org.uk/WBHH2019

Merthyr Rising – in Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales, over the weekend of Friday 24th to Sunday 26th May 2019 marks one of the first organised workers uprising in 1831. There will be music and arts. http://www.merthyrrising.uk/

The 17th RMT and Cuba Solidarity Campaign Garden Party is taking place on Wednesday 12th June 2019 at Maritime House, Clapham, commencing 7pm. Tickets are £15 which includes a free bar, buffet and music. If you wish to pay for tickets by card, please call 0800 376 3706 or use the form attached.

The 135th Durham Miners’ Gala will be held on Saturday 13th July 2019.
Marching from the Market Place to the Racecourse, with the Big Meeting starting at 1pm – as always, this will include speeches from a number of key speakers. https://www.durhamminers.org/gala

Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival - in Dorset over the weekend of Friday 19th - Sunday 21st July. Includes commemorative events, music (including marching bands), kids' activities and speakers - with the main march and rally taking place on the Sunday. https://www.tolpuddlemartyrs.org.uk/festival

Burston Strike School Rally - in Norfolk on Sunday 1st September
