Urgent: Crisis in Palestine – National Demonstration 19^th July

Overnight thousands of Palestinians in Gaza have been fleeing another threatened bombardment of Gaza. The UN Agency - UNWRA - has called on the world to act. It has neither the capacity nor resources to deal with the numbers descending on its already overcrowded facilities.

 

Last weekend thousands of people demonstrated to stop the killings – so far nearly 170 Palestinians have been killed. The UN agency OCHA says that over 80% of the victims are civilians and more than 20% children. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, has raised serious concerns that civilians are being targeted in breach of international law.

 

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign has called a national demonstration which will take place this Saturday 19 July and member are requested to assemble at 12noon (Opposite) Downing Street, SW1 London.

 

RMT is affiliated to the PSC and I strongly encourage RMT members to make every effort to participate in this demonstration.
