26th July Fighting Tube Cuts RMT Listen to London Conference

23 July 2014

10 - 1pm, TUC, Congress House, London REMINDER

With your tremendous support your union is continuing to fight the planned cuts to London Underground.
The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, proposes:
-cuts to station staff
-closure of all ticket offices
-driverless trains
-slashing safety critical maintenance
This is a reminder that we are holding an event on Saturday 26 July at Congress Hall to discuss the Mayor's plans.
The event is intended to inform members as well as the public about the issues and discuss our next campaigning steps.
This event will be chaired by Peter Pinkney (President of RMT). Mick Cash will be speaking together with John McDonnell MP (Chair RMT Parliamentary Group), Jenny Jones AM (London Assembly Green Party), Christian Wolmar (transport commentator and prospective candidate for London Mayor), Megan Dobney (South Eastern and Region TUC) and Ron Douglas (Chair of National Pensioners Convention).
Although there will be speakers helping the discussion, information from members about why the proposals are unworkable as well as feedback about the next steps in the campaign will form a major part of the event.
If you are available, please do drop by - the event is free and refreshments will be provided.
