Track Renewals Contracts – Network Rail Maintenance

Network Rail have now announced their list of preferred bidders for Plain Line and S&C Track Renewal contracts; Plain Line- Babcock, Carillion, Colas. S&C- Amey, Colas. This will affect members currently employed by Babcock, Colas, Amey and Balfour Beatty On Track Renewals contracts.
RMT slams Northern Rail

RAIL UNION RMT today slammed Northern Rail for a “cavalier and dangerous disregard for safety” as a leaked email was passed to the union in which a senior manager praises his team for “covering up the technical failures…” during strike action taken by Maintenance Depot Drivers in their fight for a fair deal in a pay and job re-grading dispute.
RMT supports campaign to reinstate pensioners' free travel

TRANSPORT UNION RMT today pledged full support for the campaign to reinstate the right to free travel for pensioners and disabled people across South Yorkshire – rights that are being stripped away in what the union believes is part of a national drive to eliminate free travel in the name of cuts and austerity.
Doncaster to host day of action against railway cuts

Trade unionists and campaigners from across Britain will assemble in Doncaster, on Saturday 24 May, for a march and rally against cuts on the railway. The protest is part of an RMT organised national day of action.

TfL staff to strike on Friday over attack on pay and pension

RMT, TSSA and Unite members at Transport for London will be taking 24 hours of joint strike action from this Friday morning in a dispute over an all-out attack on pay and pensions that would condemn to staff to a life of poverty in retirement.
