Our Ref: BR2/14/2

Dear Colleagues

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, CONDUCTORS, NORTH WALES – ARRIVA TRAINS WALES

IMPORTANT INFORMATION – ALL INDUSTRIAL ACTION IS SUSPENDED

Further to my letter dated 16th October 2014, I can report that your union has been approached by management to re-enter talks under the auspices of ACAS with a view resolving the current dispute. After careful consideration, the union’s executive committee has decided to suspend the industrial action to allow these negotiations to take place.

Therefore the strike action which was due to start at 00:01 hours on Thursday 23rd October 2014 has been suspended.  Furthermore, the industrial action short of a strike which was due to start on Saturday 25th October 2014 has also been suspended.

You are instructed to work as normal from Thursday 23rd October 2014.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you all on standing firm against Arriva Trains Wales. Without your fantastic display of solidarity on Friday 10th October 2014, the union would not have been able to force management back around the negotiating table. It is a testament to the effectiveness of a strong and organised workforce that is prepared to stand up to management.

Once again I thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash

General Secretary
