Dismissal – A. Mcguigan – Train Operator – Morden London Underground
Our Ref: LUL/4/1
28th November 2014
Dear Colleagues,
DISMISSAL – A. MCGUIGAN – TRAIN OPERATOR – MORDEN
LONDON UNDERGROUND
Since the announcement that members would be taking strike action on Monday, the Company agreed to talks at ACAS and your RMT Lead Officer and Senior Reps attended the meeting yesterday with the intention of finding a way forward in this dispute. Regrettably, no progress was made at these talks and the strike action starting on Monday 1st December remains on.
Members at Morden Traincrew Depot NOT TO BOOK ON for shifts that commence between:-
- 04:44 hours on Monday 1st December 2014 until 04:43 hours on Tuesday 2nd December 2014.
Throughout this case, management has admitted it failed to follow the agreed procedures and has not committed to meaningful discussions aimed at resolving the matter. They have yet again resorted to underhand tactics and following a written complaint, I have received an apology from TfL Commissioner Peter Hendy over his statement made recently that our member was found to be drinking at work, which he now accepts is completely untrue.
I urge all affected members to stand firm together and support this strike action to demand justice and demand that your colleague Brother Alex McGuigan is rightly vindicated and reinstated by London Underground. This culture of harassment and victimisation at London Underground cannot be allowed to continue any longer!
SUPPORT THE ACTION
SUPPORT YOUR UNION
I will continue to keep you advised of all further developments.
Yours sincerely
Mick Cash
General Secretary
