TO ALL RMT MEMBERS SODEXO

Dear Colleague,

DISMISSAL, PETRIT MIHAJ – SODEXO

I write concerning Sodexo’s disgraceful victimisation and sacking of our RMT activist Brother Petrit Mihaj. We firmly believe Petrit has been victimised and targeted by the company for his trade union activities. Your union cannot allow this concerted disciplinary clampdown against our activists to go on any longer.

RMT are currently pursuing an employment tribunal against the company with the full support of our legal team, due to take place in next few weeks. We firmly believe that management’s disgraceful treatment Petrit is due to his trade union activities in defending the interests of RMT members.

This whole situation is totally unacceptable and your Union will not stand by and let your hard working activists, who are fighting to protect jobs and conditions, be subject to this sort of victimisation. Therefore your General Grades Committee has decided to hold a ballot of Sodexo members for strike action and industrial action short of strike in order to achieve justice and reinstatement for Brother Petrit Mihaj.
Ballot papers will be despatched to your home address from Thursday 19th June 2014

The ballot will close on Tuesday 8th July 2014.

I urge members to return an overwhelming ‘Yes’ vote in favour of strike action and ‘Yes’ for industrial action short of strike. We must send management a clear message that we will not accept the victimisation of Brother Mihaj.

DEFEND PETRIT MIHAJ
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
Acting General Secretary
