RMT BLACK WORKERS’ ADVISORY CONFERENCE 6-7 APRIL 2027

I am pleased to inform you that next year’s National Black Workers’ Advisory Conference will take place at the Leonardo Hotel, 101 Stroudley Road, Brighton BN1 4DJ on Tuesday 6th April (with an optional introductory session at 12.30pm, conference starts at 2pm) to Wednesday 7th April (concluding by 4pm).  Lunch will be provided on both days with a social event on Tuesday evening.  

Branches and Regional Councils are entitled to nominate up to a maximum of four black and ethnic minority delegates each. Nominations can be accepted via email message from the branch email address and should be received by 5th March 2027.

Branches and Regional Councils are also invited to submit motions for the agenda of the conference which should be relevant to the concerns of our black and ethnic minority members and must conform to union policy. All motions should be received at Unity House by 5th March 2027.  In addition to the above, invitations would be welcome from Branches and Regional Councils to host the 2028 Conference.   

Branches and Regional Councils need to confirm with delegates that they are up to date with their subscriptions and clarify what payments can be made towards their expenses before nominating.  A £50 per delegate payment is made to Branches/Regions, up to a maximum of seven, i.e. £350 per Branch/Region per year, payable in respect of delegates to a Grades Conference or the RMT National Women’s, Young Members’, Health and Safety, Black Workers, LGBT+ Members’ or Disabled Members’ Conference.
