FIRST GREAT WESTERN OVERTIME BAN SUSPENDED

FIRST GREAT WESTERN OVERTIME BAN SUSPENDED

9 April 2015

RMT

DISMISSAL, P. CASPALL, TRAIN MANAGER, PENZANCE – FIRST GREAT WESTERN

Our Ref: BR2/4/1
9th April 2015

Dear Colleagues

DISMISSAL, P. CASPALL, TRAIN MANAGER, PENZANCE – FIRST GREAT WESTERN

Further to my letter to you dated 19th March 2015 in which I instructed you to take industrial action short of a strike in the form of an overtime ban from Friday 27th March 2015, I can now advise you that this action has been suspended.

I can report that your Branch wrote to the General Secretary and submitted a resolution requesting the suspension of the overtime ban with immediate effect but asking that the union remains in dispute with the company in relation to this matter. The union’s executive committee has taken note of this request and has therefore agreed to the suspension of the overtime ban.

Therefore you are instructed to work as normal.

I have informed First Great Western that RMT remains available for talks and I hope that management will see sense and take the necessary steps to resolve this dispute

I will, of course, keep you advised of any further developments as and when they arise in this matter.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
