Dear Colleague,
INDUSTRIAL ACTION – FREIGHTLINER RAILPORT
ALL ACTION IS SUSPENDED – ALL MEMBERS TO WORK AS NORMAL
Further talks have taken place with the Company yesterday and I am pleased to announce that the Company has finally tabled an offer which gives you and your colleagues a pay deal that matches the value of that given to the train driver grade over 21 months backdated to 1st April 2015. The details of the offer are as follows:-
• The offer copies the value that will be received by Train Driver grades between 1st April 2015 and 31st December 2016. This will move the anniversary date to 1st January from 1st April each year from 2016.
• The pay settlement will be in two stages over 21 months.
Stage One
• A 2.625% increase in salaries and allowances, effective 1st April 2015 for nine months until 31st December 2015.
Stage Two
• A 3% increase in salaries and allowances, effective 1st January 2016 for 12 months until 31st December 2016.
There are no conditions attached to the proposal.
The matter has been considered by your Executive Committee and they have instructed me to suspend the Industrial Action that was scheduled to begin at 00:01 on Thursday 22nd October 2015 until 23:59 on Friday 23rd October 2015. Therefore you are instructed to work as normal.
Additionally, the Executive Committee have instructed me to inform the Company of our acceptance of the offer as it meets our aspirations and that the dispute situation over the matter of your pay is now resolved.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your determination to fight for a better deal. Without your unity and willingness to take on the Company, I can assure you that no improved deal would have been made.
Yours sincerely
Mick Cash
General Secretary
