Dear Colleague,

DELIVERY PLAN - INTERCITY EAST COAST
RMT SUSPENDS ALL INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Further to my letter dated the 12th August 2016 with regards to the above matter and in relation to the forthcoming industrial action, please be advised that I am now able to inform you that significant progress has been made with the company.

Therefore, your union's National Executive Committee has now had the opportunity to consider this matter and has taken the decision to suspend all industrial action which was due to open on Friday 19th August 2016.

MEMBERS ARE INSTRUCTED TO WORK AS NORMAL ON
FRIDAY 19TH AUGUST 2016 AND UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

It is thanks to your strength and solidarity and the hard work and determination of your Union Representatives that good progress has been made in this dispute. Furthermore, it is a testament to the effectiveness of a strong and organised workforce prepared to stand up to management that has brought the company back around the negotiating table.

Please note that this does not mean the dispute has been completely resolved. It has allowed your union representatives to go back into talks with management and to extend the deadline for taking industrial action to a further 28 days.

Once again thank you for supporting your union and supporting this dispute.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
Yours sincerely,

Mick Cash
General Secretary
