RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2015
ISS (SIEMENS) LONDON MIDLAND CONTRACT
First of all let me congratulate all of you on the recent ballot, you produced an excellent result and you should be commended for standing together in solidarity. I write again to advise you that a further meeting has taken place with the company and your negotiating team. At this meeting, the company stated that they were prepared to offer a 2.25% pay award for 2015. However, this would only equate to a derisory 15 pence increase to your wages, which would bring your hourly rate up to a measly £6.98.
The national living wage is currently £8.25 per hour and you will recall that in 2014 management gave your union a cast iron guarantee that there would be a “roadmap” to the national living wage in future pay negotiations. It is clear that ISS have thrown the “roadmap” out of the window and are now speeding away in the opposite direction. You deserve a living wage not poverty pay.
Your union is extremely dissatisfied by the way the company has acted throughout this dispute. Therefore, the union’s national executive committee is instructing members to take 48 hours of strike action by NOT booking on for any shifts commencing between the hours of:-
• 00:01 hours Saturday 12th March 2016 and 23:59 hours on Sunday 13th March 2016
Once again, congratulations for standing shoulder to shoulder and voting in favour of taking industrial action. Now is the time to stand together with your colleagues. A show of strength will show management that they should offer a fair pay award and real improvements to your working conditions.
