RMT CALLS STRIKE ACTION

AND ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE

Dear Colleague

REST DAY WORKING DYNAMIC PAYMENTS – ABELLIO SCOTRAIL

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you and your colleagues for returning an overwhelming YES vote in the ballot for industrial action. Our Scotrail Ticket Examiner members returned a staggering 84.4% vote in favour of Strike Action and 90.1% vote in favour of Action Short of a Strike.

Your union’s National Executive Committee has now considered the matter and has taken the decision to call on all our Abellio Scotrail Ticket Examiner members to take industrial action. Therefore, you and your colleagues are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-

  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 2nd May 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 9th May 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 16th May 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 23rd May 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 30th May 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 6th June 2021

We will give notice of further Sunday’s if no agreement is reached with the company.

Additionally, all our Abellio Scotrail Ticket Examiner members are instructed not to work any Rest Days or undertake any Higher Grade Duties from 00.01 hours on Wednesday 28th April 2021 until further notice.

I ask you all to show your support and stand shoulder to shoulder during the days of industrial action. We must ensure we do not allow Scotrail to divide the workforce and demand that the company do what is fair and honour an enhanced rate for rest day working for all grades.

I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, keep you fully updated on any further developments.

UNITY IS STRENGTH

SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Best wishes.
