Dear RMT Member,

 

ABUSE OF DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE, BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET — NETWORK RAIL, PLATFORM ASSISTANTS (DESPATCH)

 

Your union has been campaigning for the reinstatement of your colleagues, who were unfairly dismissed due to the excessively harsh implementation of Network Rail’s disciplinary procedures. The company have failed to assess all evidence and considering mitigations, resulting in this miscarriage of justice.

 

Following the return of a magnificent ‘yes’ vote in the recent ballot, Network Rail have still failed to stand up for their employees who experience harassment, abuse, and intimidation at work. 

 

This situation is unacceptable, therefore your National Executive Committee have considered the matter and instructed members to take the following action.

 

Members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

 

• 06:00 hours on Saturday 30^th March 2024 until 05:59 hours on Sunday 31^st March 2024

 

• 06:00 hours on Tuesday 2^nd April 2024 until 05:59 hours on Wednesday 3^rd April 2024

 

I urge members to stand firm together and support the action to demonstrate your commitment to fair treatment at work, and to demand the immediate reinstatement of your dismissed colleagues.
