Abuse of Disciplinary Procedure, Drivers – Cross Country

Our Ref: BR2/4/4

18th April 2019

Dear Colleague

OVERTIME AND REST DAY WORKING BAN CALLED

ABUSE OF DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURE, DRIVERS – CROSS COUNTRY

Further to previous correspondence, I advised you today that the ballot for industrial action had closed with members voting in favour of industrial action short of a strike. As you know this dispute has centred on Cross Country deliberately misusing the Disciplinary procedure to penalise train drivers. We consider this as evidence of a clear and concerted attack on the driver grade.

Having considered the ballot result the National Executive Committee has called all Train Driver members to take the following industrial action: -

• From 00.01 hours on Sunday 5th May 2019 until 23.59 hours on Saturday 11th May 2019 members are instructed not to volunteer to undertake any overtime and rest day working.

I urge members to strongly support this action to send Cross Country a clear message that we will not tolerate such appalling treatment of Drivers.

STAND FIRM
SUPPORT THE ACTION

Yours Sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
