MEMBERS INSTRUCTED TO WORK NORMALLY AND

BOOK ON FOR SHIFTS AS NORMAL

 

Dear RMT Member,

 

DISMISSAL, J HUGHES – GATE GOURMET (EDINBURGH)

 

A Director’s review has taken place with the Assistant General Secretary, Lead Officer, and a Gate Gourmet Director to discuss the unfair dismissal of your colleague John Hughes. I am pleased to report that a suitable outcome has been reached that is acceptable to all parties involved.

 

There is no doubt that without your support and solidarity this successful outcome would not have been achieved.

 

The Union’s National Executive Committee has considered this matter and commended you and your colleagues for the support you have shown John. Therefore, the Union’s NEC has instructed me to inform the company that we are no longer in dispute and that all industrial action is to be cancelled.

 

Strike action that was due to take place tomorrow (Saturday 12^th October) at 0559 until 0559 on Monday 14^th October and 0559 on Saturday 19^th October until 0559 Monday 21^st October 2024 has been cancelled. Members are instructed to work your shifts as normal and book on for your shifts as required.

 

I would once again thank you and your colleagues for supporting John and demonstrating incredible solidary and unity.
