ALLEGED OVERPAYMENT OF HIGHER DUTY PAY – LONDON UNDERGROUND

 

London Underground has written to us claiming that a number of staff members have been overpaid Higher Duty Pay owing to a calculation error when it applied the recent pay award.

 

LU has not provided any evidence to support this contention and no consultation took pace with your union prior to LU issuing demands to members to agree to repay the alleged overpayments. Members have been given until 24^th May to state when they wish the “overpayments” to be recovered.

 

Your Regional Organiser has written to LU to seek discussions on this matter within the machinery for negotiation.

 

I can advise you that no agreement has been made with your union regarding these overpayments and that any process the company intends to implement or impose has not yet been discussed with your union and therefore has not been agreed with RMT.

 

As I state above, your Regional Organiser is seeking a meeting with management on this matter and I will write to you again should any developments arise.
