Alstom Pay Freeze – Rail Industry – Chester
MEMBERS TO BE RE-BALLOTED
Referring to our previous correspondence, I write to advise you that the current ballot is due to expire. Having considered the matter further, your union’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has noted that under the current legislation, a re-ballot is required every six months to keep the mandate ‘live’ and enable you to continue to take industrial action.
The current mandate will expire on the 16th March 2021. Therefore, to allow industrial action to continue uninterrupted, the NEC has instructed me to conduct a re-ballot of all affected members. The notice has been served on the company and the re-ballot for strike action and industrial action short of a strike will open on Wednesday 3rd March 2021, it will close on Thursday 25th March 2021.
I cannot stress enough that how vital it is that we achieve the highest possible turnout and the highest possible vote saying 'YES' for action, as the government's very stringent anti-union laws means that every vote counts. Therefore, when you receive your ballot paper, make sure you cast your vote and return it to the independent scrutineer as quickly as possible.
Important Please Note: The independent scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is now 'Civica Election Services' and not the 'Electoral Reform Society'. Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened.
If you know of a colleague who is eligible to vote in this ballot and they have not received their ballot paper by Tuesday 16th March 2021, please ask them to call the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706 or the RMT Head Office on 0207 387 4771 and ask for the Industrial Relations Department. Alternatively, members can email the Helpline at email@example.com and request a replacement ballot paper.
