Alstom Pay Freeze – Rail Industry

Our Ref: BR4/0001/AT

13th November 2020

TO ALL RMT ALSTOM MEMBERS ON WEST COAST CONTRACT

Dear Colleague,

Alstom Pay Freeze – Rail Industry

INDUSTRIAL ACTION HAS BEEN CALLED

Referring to my previous correspondence, I write to you again to advise you despite your union’s best efforts, the company is refusing to budge over its imposition of a pay freeze. Your negotiating team has consulted with your depot representatives who are of the belief that taking strike action in the form of short, sharp stoppages is certainly going to pack a punch and hit the company hard.

Therefore the NEC has instructed that the following strike action is to be held:-

Not to book on for any turns of duty commencing between the hours of:-

18:00 hours on Sunday 29th November 2020 and 17:59 hours on Monday 30th November 2020

18:00 hours on Thursday 3rd December 2020 and 17:59 hours on Friday 4th December 2020

18:00 hours on Tuesday 8th December 2020 and 17:59 hours on Wednesday 9th December 2020

18:00 hours on Sunday 13th December 2020 and 17:59 hours Monday 14th December 2020

18:00 hours on Thursday 17th December 2020 and 17:59 hours on Friday 18th December 2020

18:00 hours on Tuesday 22nd December 2020 and 17:59 hours on Wednesday 23rd December 2020

I urge all members to stand firm together and support this action. Let’s send management a Christmas surprise they won’t forget in the form of good solid industrial action so that the company will realise that you and your colleagues are no longer prepared to be bullied into accepting a pay freeze.

A show of strength will ensure that your negotiators can get back to the table so that a real and genuine offer can be made that rewards your hard work and improves your terms and conditions. The company are aware that as always, RMT remains available for talks and is ready to enter into negotiations in order resolve the current dispute.

STAND FIRM TOGETHER
SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION
UNITY IS STRENGTH

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
