Dear RMT Member,

 

ANNUAL LEAVE ENTITLEMENT, TRAIN MANAGERS, HOLYHEAD – AVANTI WEST COAST

 

During recent negotiations, the company provided an improved offer. The offer will see an increasing Block to 3 for 26 out of 52 weeks, excluding the weeks which are high risk from a coverage perspective. This further builds on previous offers and provides additional weeks during some of the high peak leave periods. 

 

The Union’s National Executive Committee has considered this matter and noted that an improved offer has been achieved. The NEC congratulates you and your colleagues and your representatives for achieving this improved proposal. 

 

Avanti West Coast’s offer has been deemed acceptable and I have informed the company of our acceptance. Therefore, we are no longer in dispute with Avanti West Coast over this matter. 

 

The overtime and rest day working back that was due to commence at 0001 Hours on Sunday 21^st April 2024 has been suspended. You and your colleagues should work normally and book on for shifts as normal. 

 

This is a clear demonstration of what can be achieved when we are prepared to take a principled stance against unacceptable proposals.
