BANK HOLIDAY WORKING – STM (ARRIVA RAIL LONDON CONTRACT)

Our Ref: BR1/8/4

26 April 2019

Dear colleague

BANK HOLIDAY WORKING – STM (ARRIVA RAIL LONDON CONTRACT)

It has been brought to my attention that STM has imposed new arrangements over Bank Holiday working, replacing a tried and tested formula which has worked perfectly well for around 10 years. These new arrangements have, as you will no doubt be aware, been implemented without any agreement or consultation with your union representatives.

There seems no legitimate reason for management making such a move against a process which works well, so we can only presume that they have taken such a decision as a reaction to the current pay dispute and the general breakdown in industrial relations with your union.

Therefore, your representative requested a ballot for industrial action, a request which has been endorsed by your union’s National Executive Committee. As a result, I have informed the company today that a dispute situation has arisen over this matter and that a ballot for industrial action will commence on Friday 3rd May 2019.

You should look out for your voting papers from the above date and deliver yet another message to the company that it must end its vindictive attacks on you and your members and that this bullying employer must respect its workforce.

Vote unanimously for strike action and get management to return to the bank holiday working arrangements that work for everyone.

SUPPORT YOUR UNION!

VOTE YES FOR ACTION!

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
