BOUNDARY CHANGES AND TERMS AND CONDITIONS, WESTERN AREA – NETWORK RAIL
The National Executive Committee recently considered a resolution from the Exeter Rail Branch concerning the above matter. A response from the Lead Co-ordinator on the issues raised was also considered.
Concerning the boundary change, the Exeter Rail Branch resolution stated that Network Rail P-way and S&T maintenance members had not been consulted on a boundary change. The NEC noted that the boundary change was agreed through the negotiating machinery and that an Area Representative was present at the meetings.
With regard a single depot having staff on mixed terms and conditions, Carillion (35 hours & 100% pensionable pay) and Amey (40 hours & 75% pensionable pay), this is an issue that the Area Council Representatives were previously unaware. The NEC noted that since this has been brought to the attention of the Area Council Representatives they are now challenging management on this.
The Lead Co-ordinator will be visiting Exeter with a view to improving communications in the near future.
I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, keep you informed on any further developments.
