BREACH OF PROCEDURES, PAISLEY CCTV – ABELLIO SCOTRAIL
I am writing in relation to the above matter. I am most concerned that after reports from our union representatives, it is clear that Scotrail has deliberately and blatantly ignored due process. The company has passed out an apprentice as competent to cover panel jobs, without discussion and agreement with the local LLC. This is despite a LLC representative being available. Whilst the union openly welcomes the recruitment and training of apprentices, it should be done using the agreed procedures. Therefore, the company’s actions are in clear breach of the 1996 procedural agreements. I have informed the company that we are now in dispute over these issues.
Therefore, to ensure a swift ballot, membership checks are currently underway. I urge you all to ensure your membership details are correct in preparation for any ballot. If your job title, address or workplace has recently changed, then please contact the RMT Freephone Helpline number on 0800 376 3706, the RMT switchboard on 0207 387 4771 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, if you know a colleague who has moved or changed jobs inform them to contact one of the above numbers where we will be able to amend their details and ensure a successful ballot.
I trust this keeps you fully advised and I will inform you of any further developments on this issue when they arise.
