RMT CALLS FURTHER INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE

Dear Colleague

BREACH OF THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT – CROSS COUNTRY

First and foremost, I would like to congratulate you and your colleagues for the magnificent show of solidarity you have demonstrated throughout this dispute. The industrial action short of a strike taken on the 1st August until the 6th August 2019 was solidly supported by our Cross Country members.

The issues leading us into this dispute remain unchanged, management showing a total disregard to a principled process and undermining your Trade Union, management holding negotiations outside the collective bargaining agreement and imposing changes to companywide agreements without the involvement of your Trade Union.

We cannot and will not allow management to run roughshod over these agreements. Your unions National Executive Committee has again considered the matter and has taken the decision to call further industrial action short of a strike. Therefore, I am calling members not to work any rest-days or non-contractual overtime from 23:59 Hours on Thursday 22nd August 2019 until 23:59 Hours on Tuesday 27th August 2019.

Please note this instruction and show your solidarity by acting in accordance with it. I urge you and your colleagues to stand united and continue your support during the industrial action in order to get management to negotiate with your Trade Union and resolve these issues immediately.

UNITY IS STRENGTH – SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Best wishes.
