COMPANY CONTINUE TO REFUSE TO RESOLVE OUR ISSUES
48 HOUR STRIKE ACTION CALLED

Dear Colleague,

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS – RAIL GOURMET (PADDINGTON DEPOT)

Firstly, I would like to congratulate you and your colleagues for your strong solidarity during the previous days of strike action. You have all shown a true sense of unity during this dispute and are showing Rail Gourmet that we are serious in having our issues resolved.

As you are aware, your representatives met with the company to discuss a way forward and to find a meaningful resolution to this dispute. However, since this meeting the company have shown no interest in addressing our concerns and have instead continued to ignore our serious and legitimate issues. We cannot allow management to get away with their clear lack of desire to find a meaningful resolution to the dispute.

The National Executive Committee has recently considered this matter. As the company have failed to meet all our aspirations and are showing nothing but contempt for you and your colleagues, the NEC believes that we must now take further strike action. Therefore, you and your colleagues are instructed to take strike action by not booking on for any shifts that commence between:-

• 0001 Hours on Thursday 30th January 2020 to 2359 Hours on Friday 31st January 2020

I urge you all to continue standing strong against a company that is treating you and your colleagues with disdain. We must continue to keep applying the pressure to Rail Gourmet’s management. Supporting this 48 hour strike action will send the company a crystal clear message that we want all our concerns addressed and that we will not allow them to continue to treat us with contempt. Management need to get around the table and realise that we are determined to have our issues resolved.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
SUPPORT THE ACTION
SUPPORT YOUR COLLEAGUES

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
