BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, CLEANERS – CARLISLE SUPPORT SERVICES (ARL CONTRACT) 

 

Further to my previous correspondence with regards to the above dispute, I can now advise you that further negotiations have taken place with your Union Representatives and CSS management and I have received an update report from the Regional Organiser, indicating that Carlisle Support Services has successfully met the Union’s demands.

 

The company has confirmed that all employees will be entitled to sick pay from the first day of sickness and that new employees will have guaranteed hours of no less than 37.5 hours per week. The RMT is also aware that Carlisle Support Services has enhanced the overtime and shift allowance rates.

 

Therefore, the matter has been considered by the union’s National Executive Committee who notes the report from the Regional Organiser. The Executive Committee would like to thank our Reps for their unwavering efforts and our members for their strong stance in this dispute.

 

I have notified the company of our acceptance of the proposals and I have informed Carlisle Support Services that a dispute situation no longer exists between our two organisations over this matter.
