BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, EDINBURGH DEPOT – RAIL GOURMET

Our Ref: HC/14/2

10th January 2019

Dear Colleague

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, EDINBURGH DEPOT – RAIL GOURMET
RMT CALLS ADDITIONAL STRIKE ACTION

Once again I would like to congratulate you and your colleagues for standing firm in this long running dispute and for solidly supporting the 24 hours of strike action taken on the 24th December 2018.

You and your colleagues deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. The three days of strike action taken to date proves you remain determined to send a clear message to management that the bullying, harassment and intimidation is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

Regrettably, despite the best efforts of your Union Representatives, Rail Gourmet continues to make no effort to enter into meaningful talks to bring this dispute to an immediate end. Therefore, your union’s National Executive Committee has again considered the matter and has instructed you and your colleagues to take further strike action and not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

• 00.01 hours on Tuesday 12th February 2019 and 23.59 hours on Wednesday 13th February 2019

I urge you to continue to stand shoulder to shoulder against Rail Gourmet’s blatant disregard for you and your colleagues. This dispute is about workplace justice. The only way to get management to address these issues immediately is by taking further strike action.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
SUPPORT YOUR UNION – SUPPORT THE STRIKE ACTION

Best wishes.

General Secretary
