Dear RMT Member,

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS

RAIL FOR LONDON INFRASTRUCTURE

Since Wednesday 17th July, you and your colleagues have been taking part in industrial action not to carry out any task for which there is no complete safe system of work. These tasks include risk assessments, hazard directory and correct LUL access numbers. It has now come to my attention that members are being asked to complete a refusal to work on grounds of health and safety process and are being harassed by management and forced to attend meetings to discuss their actions.

I understand that several of you have felt threatened and intimidated by the nature of these approaches made RfLI management and this is wholly unacceptable.

You are under no obligation to inform management that you are taking industrial action and are fully entitled to take part in the lawful industrial action called by the union. If you are asked to provide details about the nature of the industrial action you are taking, please advise your manager that this is an issue that should be raised with RMT.

I have written to restate the official instruction given to RfLI on 2nd July and I have demanded that the Company immediately instructs its managers to cease this harassment and bullying.

Do not let management intimidate or bully you over taking part in this industrial action when instead, the Company should be focusing its attention on resolving this dispute.

UNITY IS STRENGTH – SUPPORT THE ACTION!

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
