2nd July 2024
Dear RMT Member,
Breakdown in Industrial Relations – Rail for London Infrastructure
Following the recent ballot result in which you and your colleagues returned an overwhelming yes vote for industrial action, the Union’s National Executive Committee has considered this matter and congratulated you and your colleagues for providing the union with a mandate for industrial action.
The Union’s NEC believes that we must now send the company a message that they need to start taking our concerns seriously and address the issues at the heart of this dispute.
Therefore, the NEC is instructing RFLI members, until further notice, to take industrial action short of a strike as follows:
- With effect from 0001 hours on Wednesday 17th July 2024, until further notice, members are instructed not to carry out any task for which there is no complete safe system of work. These tasks include risk assessments, hazard directory and correct LUL access numbers.
I ask that during this industrial action you and your colleagues stand together. It is only through collective action that we can force management round the table to resolve the dispute.
I urge you all to support your colleagues and your union.
UNITY IS STRENGTH
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
