BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS TERMS & CONDITIONS – SERVEST UK (GWR CONTRACT)

Our Ref: BR1/14/2

14th December 2016

Dear Colleague,

BREAKDOWN IN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS TERMS & CONDITIONS – SERVEST UK (GWR CONTRACT)

I write further to my correspondence dated 12th December 2016 and where I informed you of managements appalling tactics of ‘one-to-one’ meetings in order to find out whether you and your colleagues will be taking industrial action.

Once again I would like to clarify that you and your colleagues are under no obligation whatsoever to advise management if you will be going on strike. Do not be intimidated by their actions, your union remains fully behind you.

The planned industrial action remains on and members are reminded not to book on for any shifts that commence between:-

•    0559 on Friday 16th December 2016 and 0558 on Saturday 17th December 2016
•    0559 on Friday 23rd December 2016 and 0558 on Saturday 24th December 2016.

Your negotiating team has been regularly meeting the company, however, Servest have failed to provide any meaningful proposals that would resolve the core issues at the heart of this dispute. It is our understanding that Servest plan to meet with Great Western Railway which only shows that these are important issues and the company are taking you and your colleagues seriously.  Therefore, it is vital that we remain vigilant and stand shoulder to shoulder against this company. Additionally, the resolve and determination that you and your colleagues have already shown has been incredible and I would like to congratulate you all on your solid show of strength and solidarity during the build-up to this industrial action.

I urge you all to continue this tremendous support and to stand strong with your colleagues. The company need to be sent a clear message that these are important and serious issues that we need to be resolved.

Stand firm
Support the Strike
Support Your Colleagues

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
