BULLYING AND HARASSMENT, COATBRIDGE – FREIGHTLINER

Our Ref: BR3/4/8

28th June 2017

Dear colleague

BULLYING AND HARASSMENT, COATBRIDGE – FREIGHTLINER

Your union met with management last Friday, 23rd June 2017, in order to find a resolution to the current dispute, or at least find a way to get into serious negotiations that could have seen next week’s strike action avoided.

Unfortunately, I have to inform you that management have failed once again to take our Coatbridge members’ concerns over bullying and harassment at the depot seriously. Freightliner wasn’t even willing to move the manager at the heart of the bullying allegations from his old office in the main building of the site. What would stop him from influencing other managers on site to carry out a revenge campaign against those who want him removed?

Your union has always stood fully behind any RMT members who seek to rid their workplace of bullies and we do so now 100% with you and your colleagues at Coatbridge. Actions such as those that have occurred at your depot are totally unacceptable.

Your union has made every effort to avoid this dispute, while Freightliner manager have thrown out all our attempts

The strike therefore remains on and I remind you and your colleagues not to book on for any shifts which commence between 06.00 hours on Monday 3rd July 2017 and 05.59 hours on Tuesday 4th July 2017.

You and your colleagues delivered a magnificent vote in favour of taking strike action and I have no doubt that you will now display a show of strength and unity on the day of action itself.

UNITY IS STRENGTH SUPPORT YOUR UNION – SUPPORT THE ACTION

Yours sincerely
