BULLYING & HARASSMENT, COATBRIDGE – FREIGHTLINER

Our Ref: BR3/4/8

19th June 2017

Dear Colleague

BULLYING & HARASSMENT, COATBRIDGE – FREIGHTLINER

Further to my letter dated the 13th June 2017 where I informed you of the magnificent results in the ballot for strike action and action short of a strike. First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to applaud our members for standing shoulder to shoulder and voting overwhelmingly in the ballot for industrial action. The company has been sent a clear message from this result that we will not tolerate any form of discrimination, abuse or harassment from management.

I can now advise you that your union’s National Executive Committee has again had the opportunity to consider this matter and believe that industrial action is necessary to force management to resolve these issues urgently and take the appropriate form of action. Therefore, your Executive Committee has taken the decision to call on all our Freightliner Coatbridge members to take the following strike action. Members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

•    06.00 hours on Monday 3rd July 2017 until 05.59 hours on Tuesday 4th July 2017

Once again, congratulations to our members at Coatbridge for your show of strength and solidarity in supporting this very important dispute. Bullying and harassment from management is wholly unacceptable to the RMT and our membership.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
SUPPORT YOUR UNION – SUPPORT THE ACTION
Best wishes.
