CALCULATION OF HOLIDAY PAY – FIRST BUS

Our Ref: B/9/8
21st June 2021

Dear Colleagues

CALCULATION OF HOLIDAY PAY – FIRST BUS

Referring to our previous correspondence, I advised members that a proposal from First Bus on the calculation of Holiday Pay had not been subject to consideration by the union’s National Executive Committee (NEC). The company proceeded with their proposals despite not having discussed this with our Regional Organiser. Importantly, this meant the proposals had not been considered by our NEC for any agreement to be given. As you will no doubt be aware, in the RMT’s Collective Bargaining Agreement with First Bus, any contractual changes tabled by management that affect members collectively require consideration by the NEC before they can be agreed on the union’s behalf.

In line with the wishes of the NEC, I informed First Bus that this union cannot accept their Holiday Pay proposals without formally consulting with our members. Your NEC has therefore instructed me to hold an electronic referendum of all members at First Bus so that you can have your say on the calculation of Holiday Pay proposals.

A copy of the company’s proposals can be found on our website by clicking on the following links: -

The on-line referendum will close at 10:30 hours on Thursday 1st July 2021
