CHANGES TO PASSENGER HOST DEPOTS – THAMESLINK AND GREAT NORTHERN (GTR)
As you are aware, your representatives have been in talks with the company over their failure to consult adequately and their proposals concerning a number of depot closures. The offer from the company failed to meet our aspirations and an urgent meeting was arranged to discuss the proposals.
Our Lead Officer has since met with GTR and has provided an updated report on the current situation. The company are proposing to offer a payment of £1000 to all members working at Tooting, upon the depot closing. The company are adamant that this offer cannot be improved.
The National Executive Committee has noted that the company will not improve the offer. After consulting with our Company Council Representatives, The NEC has taken the decision to accept the company’s proposals. Therefore, I am currently informing the company that we accept their offer and that any money owed should be paid to you and your colleagues as a matter of urgency.
I trust this keeps you fully advised on the current situation and I will write to you all again if there are any further updates on this matter.
